Performance Evaluation of BB-QZSI-Based DSTATCOMUnder Dynamic Load Condition

Abstract This paper presents the shunt compensation performance of quasi-Z-source inverter (QZSI) and back to connected QZSIs (BB-QZSI) address power quality (PQ) issues in three-phase three-wire utility network (PUN). Generally, these PQ are poor voltage regulation, low factor (PF), source current distortion, unbalanced voltage, etc. The proposed BBQZSI-based distribution static compensator (DSTATCOM) consists two with a common dc-link capacitor. Because QZSI could achieve buck/boost conversion as well DC AC inversion single-stage configuration decreases system down time cost (if fault occurs one other can continue compensation). Particularly, icos ϕ control algorithmcontrol algorithm is implemented generate proper switching pulses for switches DSTATCOM. effectiveness BB-QZSI verified through simulation studies over using MATLAB/Simulink software satisfying recommended grid code.
